Growing in harmony with nature to provide nutritious, locally grown fruit and vegetables.

Welcome to Freshford Community Farm Project

While still very much at the conception and planning stage, our vision is to establish a community led market garden farm in or around the Freshford and Limpley Stoke area, near Bath, UK. The farm will be a haven of abundance, producing nutritious, affordable, locally-grown fruit and vegetables. It will follow nature-friendly farming practices to ensure that the community, the growers, the land and local biodiversity can all thrive.

Guiding Principles

Healthy Food

Freshford Community Farm will strive to produce healthy, nutrient dense fruit and vegetables by avoiding the use of synthetic agrochemicals and promoting soil health. A healthy soil ecosystem increases the uptake of nutrients by plants, thereby increasing the nutritional value of our food.

Nature

The farm will be a place of abundance where nature can thrive alongside food production. It will employ nature-friendly farming practices, working to sequester carbon by restoring soil health, to provide additional habitat for wildlife and to increase local biodiversity.

Community

The farm will be a hub for the community, promoting wellbeing by bringing people together and building knowledge and skills around growing healthy food.
